I am never convinced about this whole idea that youth don't engage with news. CNN and the others, like Radio 4 in the UK, are an acquired taste that you to some extent gravitate to with maturity. No?
Another good example of how the NYT has become an information conglomerate with acquisitions -- some terrible in the past and some clearly beneficial in recent years. Generally I find sports reporting to be trite, cliched, and driven by press releases so if The Athletic can help bring genuine journalism and good writing back to sports reporting, great.

Including Max Mosley report and obituary in here because of his extraordinary role in the Leveson inquiry and taking down the News of the World. I thought he was admirable in freely acknowledging his sadomasochism but absolutely denying the Nazi theme -- toxic because of his own and his father's fascist history. He was a truly upper class toff, handsome, snobbish, entitled but also charming, funny, and brave.
