I am certain, beyond certain, that local reporting on Covid is critical: where can I get it, when can I get vaccinated, etc. If Facebook has helped this -- and I know several of the FB people driving this -- then they do good.

In as much as I ever have bees in my bonnet, I have some under my hat on this whole area. The Hill has become near total garbage in recent years, including hosting an appalling excuse for journalism John Solomon who is possibly the third-least-ethical person in the industry. At my age as a reporter I do find the Afghanistan saga depressing and so there is a bit of gloom in there. Boredom is no excuse to leave Afghans to their fate. (Wish I'd put that in the item). The other thing is a warning on Covid in the UK. I hope I am wrong. The history thing is astounding and a good reminder of why we need to know history.
